A few years ago Mavis had hardwood floors installed in her kitchen. The flooring was reclaimed maple from an old warehouse in northeast Minneapolis. The
ReUse Center, which recycles building supplies, had 25,000 square feet for sale and Mave bought 400 square feet of it. She had the floor refinished in September and hadn't replaced the baseboards.
The old baseboards were those ugly brown vinyl strips that were glued to the walls. You can see they left a mess when they were removed. This weekend we picked out some new baseboards at Home Depot, rented a miter saw at
Reddy Rents down the street, and installed the baseboards.
So what do you think? Big difference, right!
