I was able to speak with both Ma and Jim this evening. 

All of the appointments went off as planned.  During the paracentisis, they took six liters of fluid.  Ma says that she is sore and with some pain from that.  The chemo treatment followed and took about an hour.  They finished the day at the Mayo Clinic at about 3:30 central time. 

They are on their way to Michigan, but will be staying in Wisconsin tonight since it's been such a long day for both of them.  Ma should be back home at her apartment by tomorrow afternoon.

Road Tripping to Rochester

Today is appointment day at the Mayo Clinic.  So Jim and Ma are road tripping from Minneapolis to Rochester this morning.

The first appointment is at 10:30 a.m. central time.  There will be a blood draw first.  Then Dr. Hartmann has Ma scheduled for the paracentesis to draw out the abdominal fluid that has been building up.  After that there is a chemo treatment scheduled. 

So it'll be a pretty long day.
